Édith Piaf
2019
Édith Piaf (1915–1963) was a legendary French singer, widely regarded as one of the greatest vocalists of the 20th century. Known as “La Môme Piaf” (“The Little Sparrow”), she captivated audiences with her powerful, emotive voice and her deeply expressive delivery.
I am creating an illustration of Édith Piaf because her presence is as iconic as her voice. Her simple black dress, her expressive gestures, and the dramatic aura she brought to the stage make her visually unforgettable. Illustrating her allows me to capture the emotion she radiates and translate it into an image—something that reflects both her strength and her fragility. Through the illustration, I want to celebrate her legacy and the powerful feelings her music continues to evoke in me.
